Felted Wood Soaps
Shown below are some of the Felted Soaps I have created. They sell quite quickly at Holiday Fairs and other venues. With the holidays coming these make wonderful and inexpensive gifts. If you are interested in placing an order please contact me for details.

I discovered needle felting by attending a parent handwork group at the City of Lakes Waldorf School where my daughter attends. We were making small needle felted dolls to sell in the school store. I was completely taken with the wonderful soft wool, the variety of texture and color, and of its natural appeal. I had never seen this medium before. I began experimenting with different ways I could use the technique. Since my experience had been with watercolor painting, I applied the wool as if I was painting, adding layers. Now I only use wool and dry needle felting for my “paintings”. To me, when I am finished they best resemble a tapestry so I call the technique felted tapestry painting. In my work, I feel a calling to focus on tree portraits showcasing their unique beauty to our surroundings.
